Blacksmithing, metalwork and stone sculpture at the highest level

Kunstschmiede Maria Laach combines traditional blacksmithing with modern metal art. Our workshop produces individual and artistic metalwork that impresses with its perfect craftsmanship and creative design. Our blacksmith’s art includes unique pieces such as weather vanes, sacred art objects, grave designs and much more – always using high-quality materials such as bronze, copper, brass, tombac and wrought iron.

Particular highlights of our work include forging and the use of traditional forging techniques such as perforation, riveting and winding. We combine these techniques with modern elements such as glass and natural stone to create unique works of metal art. Every year, we process several tons of metal and charcoal to guarantee durable and stylish products.

National fame thanks to unique metal art

Kunstschmiede Maria Laach is known far beyond the region. One of our outstanding projects is the monumental sculpture “Janara”, which is on display at the BikiniARTmuseum in Bad Rappenau. This five-tonne sculpture made of forged metal symbolizes a woman’s right to self-determination and reaches a height of ten metres. The special coating with a special color makes it a unique work of art.

Another example of our work is our extensive restoration work on numerous castles and palaces in Rhineland-Palatinate, including Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz. Here we produced bronze lettering, stainless steel Braille panels and miniature bronze models.

For an exclusive house project based on designs by Edgar Rader, we produced artistic window grilles, wrought bronze strips and an outdoor kitchen roof made of individually manufactured copper shingles.
