PRAY! BE ALIVE...
Since 2019, we have had a youth vigil in Maria Laach.
With this celebration, we want to address exclusively young people from the age of 14 who have already received confirmation up to those who are 30 years old. Of course, church services should be open to all people and the services we celebrate in Maria Laach are always open to the people who visit our church.
Nevertheless, it is important to us to appeal to young people in particular and, in a certain sense, to give them their own place of worship where they can ask questions about their faith, think about Jesus and pray.
Elements such as praise, processions, prayers, readings and catechesis are intended to appeal to the whole person with all their senses.
In addition to the monks, guests are also invited to interpret the Gospel and engage in conversation with the young people. After each youth vigil, everyone is invited to the monastery for a get-together.
The youth vigil usually takes place every third Saturday of the month.
